• Monte-Carlo Casino ~ TillyTalks Review

If you want to feel extremely glamorous but extremely poor at the same time… the Monte Carlo Casino in Monaco is the place to go. My only advice would be dress the part & you’ll feel the part!

For starters, I’d say not to bring in any more than €100, the temptation once you’ve won a couple of euros to spend some more is… dangerous. The entry to the casino is €17, however €10 of this is then handed back to you in the form of a voucher. Which you can either spend towards a drink from the bar, or on the slot machines. I would recommend putting the voucher towards a drink as I learnt the hard way and spent €46 on two gin and tonics (cry).

The architecture of the actual Monte Carlo Casino is gorgeous, as is the whole surrounding. An added bonus is definitely the glorious amount of ridiculously expensive cars that rev past you. I definitely saw into my future dream life (pray).

When it comes to winning any amount of money… I have mixed feelings. My sister managed to make €89 from €20, which I then proceeded to lose in the time frame of two minutes 🙂 (sorry sister). However, I then bet €5 on roulette & came away with €51 which covered my two overly expensive gin & tonics, so I happily walked away with it. In saying this, I also lost €25 on one game, but irrelevant as I’m trying to forget this. All in all, coming from a broke uni student trying to live her best most luxurious life, I’d do it all over again.

  • Siyam World Maldives – Day 1 | TillyTalks Review

Day 1 of the Maldives has been incredible so far, other than the awful sea plane which I would quite frankly rather swim the 174km back to male than get back on 🙂 just kidding (kinda). Siyam world staff were so welcoming playing the drums when we first arrived on the island and it immediately made up for the long flights!

The resort has 5 different restaurants included in the all inclusive, there’s one buffet & four specialty restaurants. Today I ate at the Wahoo grill for lunch (a Maldivian Grill), where I had a prawn cocktail for starter and pork medallions for main, the medallions were definitely worth going back for. Then for Dinner we went to Andaluica which is the islands Spanish themed restaurant, for a starter I tried the octopus carpaccio which I personally wouldn’t have again. However, the scallops starter with salmon caviar was unbelievable *chefs kiss*. As a main I had the reef fish fillet with prawns, and if I hadn’t of eaten an entire fried prawn head by accident this would have also been an excellent choice.

The view from our villa is truly gorgeous, the sea is crystal clear with the infinity pool looking out over, perfect to watch the sunset with a glass of wine in the early evening. An added bonus would definitely be the water slide which takes you directly from the decking into the ocean.

The sea life so far is impressive! We’ve seen reef sharks, sting rays & so many tropical fish in just a day! I can’t wait to explore more of the island & take in everything this gorgeous resort has to offer!

  • Ikos Aria ~ TillyTalks Review

Ikos Aria… where to begin! The 5* chic resort hidden on the serene island of Kos is nothing less than incredible, from the contemporary style, to the classy restaurants, to the stunning views. It was fourteen days I will always remember.

We went all inclusive, and when they say all inclusive… they mean all inclusive! There was nothing the staff wouldn’t do to keep you happy, the drinks were constantly flowing along with the food, and no ask was too much (although I could have done with a little less food as I think I tripled in size on this holiday). Everything was included in the all-inclusive package, even including room service at any hour, champagne delivered to your door, breakfast in bed, whatever you wanted, they went above and beyond!

The food, WOW. I’m a big foodie, all be it I can be picky! But there was not one thing I ate on this holiday that I didn’t thoroughly enjoy. With eight different restaurants to choose from, you’ll be spoilt for choice. The pizza at Fresco was one of the best I’ve ever had (and I have had a lot!), even came back for seconds! & the soft-shell crab at Anaya was just as delicious! What topped off the experience at these exceptional restaurants, was the fact that if you couldn’t decide what exactly from the menu you wanted… they would bring you both! Same goes for deserts, almost every evening I was faced with WAY more desert than a 5’4 girl could have tackled, eyes bigger than my stomach may have played a large part in this… however, I’m not complaining.

The Spa, when it comes to the spa it’s difficult for me to make a fair analogy. We travelled to Ikos during Covid so sadly much of the spa wasn’t open, despite this I did still get a massage. I had the gold dust full body massage and facial which included the use of a 24-karat gold serum, I felt very expensive leaving! Of course, I then treated myself to a glass (or four) of champagne in the bar in the main lobby, my favourite bar! The views from every bar are absolutely gorgeous.

Kos Town, the town of Kos is definitely worth visiting! The gorgeous town centre is full of small local shops, of course it is a tourist hot spot, but you don’t even notice this, there’s an array of bars to stop at for drinks- which you will need too- it’s hot hot hot! The prices aren’t bad at all, there’s unique jewellery shops around every corner, along with antiques and the cutest coffee shops with beautiful views, including bars across the sea front where you can admire all the ginormous super yachts! We got one of the Ikos Aria blue minis for the day (super cute) and the drive into town wasn’t too bad – from a girl who gets very car sick – however it was 100% worth it.

It is impossible to get bored at this resort, there’s bikes free of charge which you can take out of the resort and go exploring (at your expense, there were too many hills for my liking) , a gym, endless gym classes, paddleboards, kayaks, and pedalos! You can take this out to the tiny island just opposite the resort where you can climb up to the church and ring the bell but be warned… take shoes! My boyfriend did not and managed to cut his foot pretty badly, but we won’t talk about that (it was disgusting). You can also hire boats for the day at an extra cost, again this is 100% worth it. You can drive the boat out around the cliffs where you will find an untouched beach which had some of the most beautiful waters I’ve ever seen. The resort also packs you a picnic to take with you! As well as this there are pools scattered around the resort, all of which serve drinks (get all the cocktails you can handle)!

To finish off, I don’t have a bad word to say about this resort, it truly is 5* and lived up to all my hopes, I would give it a 10/10 and would 100% come back, however I would also love to see how the other Ikos resorts live up to this one!
